The whisky noggin is traditionally considered to be of Scottish origin and "go to bed" or "chota peg" in anglo-Indian colonial speak. The noggin is used for serving an individual portion of whisky equivalent to a gill (quarter of a pint) and sufficient to have a soporific effect on the drinker.

This fabulous much sought after noggin is in fine fettle, manufactured by Birmingham Silversmiths H.B Johnson & Co, during the jubilee year of King George V in 1935.

It has a solid silver lidded top, both hallmarked and comes with a rare silver hallmarked Whisky label dated 1938/9.
