Limited edition copies. Limited to five hundred on Dutch paper, number 230.
With a preface by Paul Lacroix exploring the fabulist and storyteller. Some of the fables that appear across these volumes include The Raven and the Frog, The Two Mules and The Wolf and the Dog.
Jean de la Fontain was a French fabulist and one of the most widely read French poets of the 17th century.
CONDITION
In quarter leather with marbled boards. Externally, generally lovely with light bumping to the head and tail of the spine and extremities. Previous owner inscription to the page after the front free endpaper. Internally, firmly bound with bright and clean pages.
