This wonderful piece of art piece seen to be made with high quality cast brass / bronze material
made in the old lost wax technique , veryunique and skilled shaped . it has pointed chin beneath ,
the full, down turned lips and thin nose to leading to medial ridge bisecting the slit eyes, decorated with
cowrie shells which are attached to multicolor cotton cloth , which I am, believe represent a ceremonial headdress.
It presume to be made on late 1900s in Africa by the Dan tribe which is an ethnic group of west Africa. inhabit the
mountainous west- central part of Ivory Coast and areas of Liberia.
This type of maskare used in entertainment ,ritual,man initiation and multiples rolesto
reinforce social order and transmit knowledge to the inhabitants. it is believe to have musical
power which embody the most powerful of spirit forces ......

This beautiful piece of art seem to be very old but not sure about age it looks in invery good
conditions but, it has patina in metal like dark spot, green discoloration and small scratches
and vintage ding on chin, otherwise it look fantastic art deco piece ...
