DESCRIPTION
The Victoria History of the Counties of England is an English history project beginning in 1899 with the aim of creating an extensive encyclopaedic history of each county in England, dedicated to Queen Victoria.
The first VCH volume was published in 1901, and there are now over two hundred and thirty volumes.
This is a bright modern edition published for the Institute of Historical Research by Boydell and Brewer between 2004 and 2019 of the series dedicated to the history of Oxfordshire.
Comprising volume XIV: Witney and its Townships; volume XV: Carterton, Minster Lovell and environs; volume XVI: Henley-on-Thames and environs; volume XVII: Broadwell, Langford and Kelmscott; and volume XIX: Wychwood Forest and environs.
Featuring numerous black and white illustrations as well as maps and plans in text.
Ex libris from the library of Robert Smith with bookplate to half titles, dated 2007.
CONDITION
In the original publishers uniform full cloth bindings with titles on labels to front boards. Externally lovely. Robert Smiths ex libris bookplates to half titles. Internally, firmly bound. Pages bright and clean.
